Thank you to everyone who helped us to celebrate our 14th Pastoral Anniversary!
Thank you to everyone who helped us to celebrate our 14th Pastoral Anniversary!
Elder Kennis Hutchons founded Kingdom of God Outreach Ministries, COGIC, Auburn Hills, Michigan on September 16, 2009. Previously, he was the pastor of New Life Christian Outreach in Pontiac, MI. The first church was located at 3070 Joslyn Rd, Auburn Hills, MI. There, Pastor Hutcheons faithfully led the flock until his homegoing on January 9, 2010. Shortly thereafter, Bishop P. A. Brooks, Prelate of Northeast Michigan Jurisdiction, assigned Elder Allen M. Gulley to be the Minister in Charge. On May 3, 2010, Bishop Brooks appointed Elder Gulley as the pastor.
Pastor Gulley led the church to move from the house where they were meeting to the Crowne Plaza Hotel in the fall of 2010. He encouraged the members to prepare themselves spiritually, mentally, and financially for God to bless them with a new church property. A little less than four years later, in June 2014, the members were able to walk into their new edifice at 223 Ferry Avenue, Pontiac, MI! The property had been purchased on the “one payment plan” – with cash! God continued to favor us and shortly thereafter, we were blessed to purchase six more adjoining properties; also with cash! The Official Opening Ceremonial Service was held on the afternoon of August 2, 2014. We welcomed Bishop P. A. Brooks, our Jurisdictional Prelate, and a host of other clergy, family, and friends to come and celebrate with us the wonderful blessings from God!
2016 was a busy year! On May 15, 2016 we realized a six-year dream to dedicate our fellowship hall as the Evangelist Irma Hutcheons’ Fellowship Hall. The service was attended by local and district representatives. In August 2016, we had our first Back to School Backpack Give-A-way, which is now an annual event. Then, in September 2016, we launched our first Annual Women’s Day Service.
The state of our church is strong and the journey far reaching as we continue to follow the cloud of His presence, letting Him lead us into the expectation of His preparation for our lives.
